Drew's Story
How do you say thank you for creating an adventure of a lifetime?
It was incredible. What a ride! You gave two boys from Texas the opportunity to ride 100 miles over four days through the mountains of Colorado.
You had amazing one-room huts tucked away in the hills that served as hope and motivation on a daily basis. (Actually, I think it was the fresh meat, cold beers, and soft bunk-beds that inspired us to ride hard and finish each day.)
You pointed us in the right direction for single-track excursions, nasty climbs, and “hold-on-to-your-hat” descents.
I now know the definition of an adventure: When you aren’t 100 percent sure what’s coming around the next corner, whether that’s on the side of a mountain or walking down a strange street.
If you apply that definition to this ride, I can honestly say that I experienced one of the greatest adventures of my life.
Kevin, you made that possible, and I can only pray that this letter does my gratitude towards you and Backcountry Biker justice.
